About Caracas

Caracas covers an area of 745.2 sq. miles (1930 square Km) and is estimated to have a population of 3.5 million people being the capital and largest city of Venezuela. It is located in the north of the country on the Venezuelan coastal mountain range (Cordillera de la Costa).

Museo Bolivariano

m4.jpgThis is a small museum, but one that should be visited by anyone wishing to find out more about colonial Caracas and the time of Simon Bolivar. The set of objects on display range from pieces from that time to Bolivar’s family and teacher Simon Rodriguez´s belongings, as well as the firearms used in the War of Independence. You shouldn’t skip this museum, especially when you are in an area where everything pertains to or is related to the Liberator.
